Description of Project: 

The inadequate performance of the EPI Programme in Cote d'Ivoire could in part be ascribed to the state of the cold chain and the lack of materials. The project's approach was designed to remedy the logistical problems, especially the storage and transport of vaccines.

Description of Services: 

The aim of the programme was to support the national programme in the procurement of cold chain equipment and transport facilities as well as in logistical matters. Specific activities included: - Writing of public tender documents and publication of the latter - Evaluation of offers and award of proposals - Verification of contracts - Assistance during reception of equipment - Assistance during tendering procedures - Assistance with financial procedures - Technical support with regard to logistics, the use and maintenance of equipment - External evaluation of the project
