In spite of the relatively stable political situation in Baghdad, some unrest continues to prevail in some of the Governorates of Iraq due to the presence of rebel forces. The war over the last decade has had ist negative impact not only on the overall socio-economic situation of the country but also to a large extent on the healthcare services available at the different levels of care.
As part of ist endeavour to rehabilitate and strengthen the healthcare system in the country, the Government of Iraq intends to rehabilitate ist existing Nursing Home Service Hospital (NHSH) in the Medical City in Baghdad along with completing two of ist stalled hospital projects viz. The Haditha Hospital in Al Anbar Governorate and Al Dour Hospital in Salah Al Deen Governorate.
To facilitate the process, the Government of Germany through the ‘German Credit Facility for the Return of IDPs in Iraq’ (GCFI), has extended a credit facility of 500 million Euro to the Republic of Iraq.
The Iraqi-German Steering Committee through Reconstruction Fund for Areas Affected by Terroristic Operations (ReFAATO) has appointed the consortium of EPOS Health Management and SWECO together with their local sub-contractor CAP Consulting (The Consultant) to undertake a detailed feasibility study leading to development of an investment plan to rehabilitate the Nursing Home Service Hospital (NHSH) into an inter-disciplinary Medical Centre other than assessing the feasibility of completing the two stalled hospital projects viz. Haditha Hospital in Al Anbar and Al Dour Hospital in Salah Al Deen Governorate.

Preparation of a detailed feasibility study and investment plan for the Rehabilitation and services expansion of NHSH.
Preparation of a feasibility report detailing the scope of re-starting and completing the two stalled hospital projects viz.. Haditha Hospital in Al Anbar and Al Dour Hospital in Salah Al Deen Governorate.
Phase II: Subject to the approval of the Feasibility study and investment plan for NHSH, during this phase the following services will be provided.
Preparation of tender documents for procurement of civil works and medical & non-medical equipment for NHSH.
Support to ReFAATO in the overall procurement process culminating in signature of services contracts with the selected suppliers.
