A major Turkish Hospital Group requested the Islamic Development Bank to buy and lease back medical equipment which was installed in the group's three main hospitals in Istanbul. The equipment, mainly of German origin, consisted of X-Ray, MRI, computer tomography and other equipment.
To assess the value of the equipment as a basis for the leasing arrangement between the Bank and the hospital group.
The expert had to:
Review the contracts under which the equipment was procured
Estimate the present value of each item
Assess the actual capacity of each item and its performance since purchase, based on the number of cases handled
Estimate the duration of the residual life of each item of equipment.
