EPOS was recently awarded two EU-funded projects in Yemen. The ‘Governance in Health – Support of Human Resources for Health’ project will launch at the end of January and supports the planning, coordination and monitoring of the health workforce. It aims to strengthen the stewardship role of the General Department for Human Resources Development and the General Personnel Affairs including support to the further development of a functioning and cost effective HR policy at central level.
EPOS’ approach will strive to move from a fragmented ‘Personnel and Training’ system to one that implements a coordinated ‘Comprehensive System of HR development (HRD)’ to guide a results focused strategic planning approach as well as serve in promoting multi-sector involvement, donor alignment and government support.
echnical assistance within the context of the ‘Reproductive Health and Population Programme (RHPP)’ in Yemen has been extended for an additional ‘RHPP II’ phase. Services provided by EPOS aim at improving the quality and accessibility of RH care services by developing capable structures and processes at decentralized level for planning and decision making especially in RH. Phase II expands the programme in three new Governorates.
