In the framework of the EU- funded project “Support for effective stewardship of the Yemeni Health Sector” the EPOS TA team successfully assisted the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MoPHP) in conducting a national health planning workshop. The workshop encouraged involvement of a broad group of stakeholders into the ministry's formulation of vision and priorities for 2018. It was successful in obtaining a consensus on the MoPHP plan for 2018 with priorities on emergency response and prevention of the collapse of the health system.
The MoPHP has set its priorities on achieving integration of health services provision, capacity building and securing adequate resources to support the country with essential medicines and basic medical commodities. It also focused on supervision through realistic M&E mechanism paying close attention to most-affected groups including injured and disabled people and displaced populations.
The workshop took place on 14 February in Sana’a and was attended actively by the MoPHP leadership, relevant national stakeholders, humanitarian agencies and international health development partners.
