Project Objectives:

The objective of the Tanzanian German Programme to Support Health (TGPSH) is aligned with the national goal of the health sector and is as follows: ‘All households are reached by evidence-based and efficient basic health services that fulfil objective quality criteria and, wherever possible, meet public expectations.’ This ambitious goal is set to tackle major healthcare issues regarding reproductive, maternal, neonatal, child and adolescent health.

The goal of the TGPSH TC (technical cooperation) module is to improve the quality and quantity of health services are, including access through health insurance.

The here tendered services encompass interventions under Output 2 and Output 3:

Output 2: Performance improvement of selected health facilities in neonatal care, including improvement of equipment availability. Supported hospitals will be enabled to establish functional new-born care units and assure adequate treatment to new-borns in critical condition.

Output 3: Improvement of services for reproductive health, including emergency obstetric and neonatal care and post-partum family planning services in the supported partner health facilities. The focus on improved access to family planning and emergency obstetric (and neonatal) care contributes to ensuring the right to reproductive health and sexual self-determination for especially vulnerable groups.

Job Description and Expert Profile:

  • University qualification in in obstetrics/gynaecology or general practitioner master’s degree in public health Master of Science Degree public health/health service related

  • C2 language skills in English and German

  • 10 years of professional experience in the health sector

  • 5 years working as a , 5 years of working on improving the quality of care with a focus on reproductive health, maternal new-born care

  • 5 years of as project team leader (health project)

  • 2 years of experience in projects in lower middle income countries

  • 5 years of experience in development cooperation projects
