Project Objectives: The objective of the Tanzanian German Programme to Support Health (TGPSH) is aligned with the national goal of the health sector and is as follows: ‘All households are reached by evidence-based and efficient basic health services that fulfil objective quality criteria and, wherever possible, meet public expectations.’ This ambitious goal is set to tackle major healthcare issues regarding reproductive, maternal, neonatal, child and adolescent health.
The goal of the TGPSH TC module is to improve the quality and quantity of health services are, including access through health insurance. The here tendered services encompass interventions under Output 2 and Output 3:
Output 2: Performance improvement of selected health facilities in neonatal care, including improvement of equipment availability. Supported hospitals will be enabled to establish functional new-born care units and assure adequate treatment to new-borns in critical condition.
Output 3: Improvement of services for reproductive health, including emergency obstetric and neonatal care and post-partum family planning services in the supported partner health facilities. The focus on improved access to family planning and emergency obstetric (and neonatal) care contributes to ensuring the right to reproductive health and sexual self-determination for especially vulnerable groups.
Job Description and Expert Profile:
Expert 4 and 5: Expert 4, national, long-term (based in Mbeya), 18 expert months, Expert 5, national, long-term (based in Tanga), 18 expert months
Under guidance of the Team Leader and in close consultation and collaboration with expert 1 and short-term experts as well as with the regional, district and facility counterparts in Mbeya (Expert 4) and in Tanga (Expert 5), plan and implement all project measures pertaining to Work Package 3 (Family Planning)
- University qualification in medicine or nursing/midwifery degree at master level with formal training in FP
- C1 language skills in English and Kiswahili
- 6 years of professional experience in FP / reproductive health (RH) service delivery in client centred settings/organisations
- 3 years of experience in conducting clinical training and mentoring in FP/RH
- 3 years of experience with behaviour change communication approaches
